Season ticket system
Season ticket holders are the club’s most loyal customers – and often the ones managed in a spreadsheet. Here is what a season ticket system should do, and how Sportmanager does it.
Why season tickets deserve a system
A season ticket is a relationship, not a ticket. The holder has a fixed seat, expects a reminder to renew and gets upset if the seat has been sold to someone else. And the seats left empty because the holder didn’t show up could have been sold.
That takes a system that knows the seat, the game and the holder – and releases the seat when it isn’t being used.
Sound familiar?
- Renewals are sent by hand – and half of them get no reply
- Nobody knows until match day which seats are actually free
- The season ticket is a piece of cardboard that has to be picked up at the clubhouse
- Holders who have stopped coming are only noticed at renewal time
What a season ticket system should do
- Sell and renew online – with a reminder before the season starts
- Link the ticket to a fixed seat on your own seating plan
- Let the holder activate their seat for each game – and release it if they aren’t coming
- Email the ticket on the morning of match day
- Show who is starting to drift away
- Handle payment in installments
How Sportmanager does it
The season ticket is issued with a seat on the club’s own seating plan. Before each game, the holder gets a reminder to activate their seat, and on the morning of match day the ticket arrives by email. Seats that aren’t activated are released for sale.
Under Insights you can see which holders haven’t activated for several games – before renewal time.
- Online renewal with reminders
- Fixed seat on your own seating plan or Seats.io
- Activation per game and automatic release
- Payment in installments as a subscription

Questions about season tickets
Can holders pay in installments?
Yes. The season ticket can be sold as a subscription, so the amount is charged to the card on a regular basis – and failed payments are handled automatically.
What happens if the holder doesn’t come?
Seats that aren’t activated for the game are released for sale, so the arena isn’t left with empty seats that have been paid for.
Can we use our current seating plan?
Yes. If you use Seats.io, that works too – and plans can be drawn in Sportmanager’s own drawing tool.
